Join the Buglife Conservation Officers for this Guardians of our Rivers: Next Steps theory training session.
The training will cover everything you need to know to become a certified riverfly monitor as part of the Riverfly Monitoring Initiative, including:

An introduction to riverfly monitoring and the target invertebrate groups

Health & Safety
-
How to identify the target invertebrate groups
-
How to carry out a survey
-
Recording & uploading your data
-
Protocols if water quality issues are detected
There will be plenty of time during the session for questions and discussions. You will receive a follow-up email with lots of useful links to support your learning.
This theory training will be followed by a separate practical training session where you will also receive your training pack. On completion of both sessions, you will receive your certificate.
This training is aimed at entry level, so no prior knowledge is required. Please note that both training sessions are limited to those aged 18 and over.
