Coastal Adaptation on Walney: A Community Workshop (SOLD OUT)
About
Our coastlines are changing, and it’s important that we plan for the future. If you live on Walney, we’d love you to join us for a community workshop exploring how the coast might change and the options available to adapt.
Using Earnse Bay as a case study, we’ll use an interactive tabletop simulation called MAGE to explore and visualise possible future coastal changes together.
Choose a workshop time that suits you and join us at North Scale Community Centre. Sessions will last up to two hours, and light refreshments will be provided.
The workshops are organised as part of a research project at Lancaster University which seeks to involve the local community in coastal adaptation planning. The work is funded by the Our Future Coast project, part of DEFRA's Flood and Coastal Resilience Innovation Programme.
