Lancaster Priory Foundations Appeal: Afternoon Café Events
About
Foundations Appeal: Afternoon Café Events (music from 3pm unless otherwise stated)Lancaster Priory has stood at the centre of the city’s religious and civic life for over a millennium. St Mary's, the Parish Church to the City of Lancaster, is now working towards future proofing the very structure of the 500-year-old north and south walls. Firm Foundations Appeal is determined that the doors will be kept open for another 1000 years of worshipping and music-making.
Music is part of the intangible heritage of the building itself, so it is with thanks to our community of artists and musicians that we bring a series of Afternoon Café Events which not only give the opportunity to raise awareness of the plans to repair and restore our historic church, now placed on Historic England's Heritage at Risk Register, but to celebrate by looking to the future.
Thank you for booking/attending one of these events which aims to bring a community of people together in the latest fundraising chapter of our church's restoration story.
As an audience member you are invited to reserve your place in advance for each of the following events. There is limited seating so advance booking is recommended. Tickets aren't required but donations as suggested at the booking point will be gratefully received. Everything you give goes towards the fundraising work and mission of Lancaster Priory Firm Foundations. Firm Foundations will be setting the context for the series during a Talk and Q & A session on 13th June.
