CEO Support Forum: Leader Wellbeing
About
We are delighted to announce that our Wednesday 10 June CEO Support Forum will feature Duncan Batty, Head of Development at EmPower, who will lead and facilitate this important session.
In the demanding role of a charity CEO, leadership can often feel isolating, with little space to reflect or recharge. Our CEO Support Forum series offers a confidential, 1.5-hour online gathering where small groups of CEOs come together to share challenges, insights, and mutual encouragement. These sessions are built on the understanding that when you face pressure in leadership, peer support can often be the most powerful remedy. Each session focuses on a relevant current theme, inviting CEOs to explore how the wider context is impacting both their organisations and their own leadership. These sessions are ideal for leaders seeking a safe, structured space to be candid about current issues, and to support—and be supported by—their peers.
This upcoming session will focus on leader wellbeing and the unique pressures that come with holding the weight of organisational leadership. EmPower are not therapists or life coaches; they are partners in growth guiding leaders through a structured, measurable, and science-backed journey that helps people think, feel, and live better.
Drawing on EmPower's unique 12-week belief-retraining journey, Duncan will introduce the top three drivers behind the decline in leadership wellbeing. His perspective challenges common assumptions, including the idea that financial success alone leads to wellbeing. Instead, he highlights a more nuanced reality: the relationship between financial success and wellbeing is not one of simple cause and effect, but a symbiotic one, where each both influences and depends on the other.
Together, we will explore how CEOs themselves are carrying the load. As always, the conversation will be a safe, protected space, inviting honest reflection on the expectations placed on leaders, the boundaries they set, and the practices that help sustain both personal wellbeing and healthy organisational cultures. Participants will have the opportunity to reflect on how the current context is shaping their leadership, to share experiences, and to learn from peers who understand the unique pressures of the role.
