The Ayrshire Fiddle Orchestra was founded in 1982 and enlightens, entertains and excites audiences all over Scotland, UK and the world, as ambassadors for traditional Scottish music and culture.Since 1986, international Concert Tours have played a huge role in the Orchestra’s strategy, taking Scotland’s music and dance across the world to Europe, USA & Canada, Australia & New Zealand, China, South Africa & Japan.
Back home, as well as regular concerts in Ayr Town Hall, the Orchestra supports numerous charity and civic events throughout Ayrshire.
The Ayrshire Fiddle Orchestra is a self-funding registered charity open to all young string players in Ayrshire. Membership is free, tuition is free - there are no fees or subscriptions or any financial barriers to joining.
