Art day camp at Hanford, 10 - 14 August

This exciting new day camp for 9 -15 year olds is run by specialist art teachers from Hanford School. There are 2 fun courses to choose from, both of which can be stretched to suit all abililtes. Please select the preferred course when prompted.Materials and snacks will be provided. Please bring a packed lunch and wear practical shoes and old clothing.
Course 1 : Mixed Media Landscapes using Mark Making
This will explore the endless possibilities of mark making in a fun way using a variety of natural media such as coffee, spices, salt, rice and charcoal. You will be using your own homemade paintbrushes created from natural materials found in the grounds of Hanford such as twigs, feathers and hay. We will be cutting, tearing, burning and manipulating the paper to produce exciting 2D landscapes.
Course 2: Pyjamas and Popcorn
In the Art Barn you will make a pair of pyjama bottoms or shorts from plain fabric using the sewing machines. These will then be dyed using natural pigments in a pot over the fire pit. Whilst you are in the Bushcraft area, you will learn to whittle wooden tools, make charcoal from willow twigs and cook fruit and vegetables foraged from our historic walled garden.
The day camp cost is £225 for the week

Extra 'wrap around' time option available (8.45am to 5.15pm) for an extra £80
