Join The Waite Collective for a welcoming afternoon of Balfolk dance near Chester. Whether you're completely new to Balfolk or have danced with us before, you'll find friendly people, great music and plenty of opportunities to learn and dance together.
On Sunday 9 August we'll be running a Balfolk Summer School session, revisiting some of the dances we've explored in previous workshops. New dancers are very welcome – we'll explain everything as we go.
The afternoon includes:
• A Summer School workshop revisiting some of the dances we've explored in previous workshops.
• Live music led by Rondez Vous.
• Singing for dancing from The Waite Collective.
• Musicians are warmly welcome to join us – playing, dancing or both.
• Tea, coffee, cake and fruit during the afternoon.
• Friendly dancers and a welcoming atmosphere.
After the official dancing finishes, The Waite Collective will be staying for informal social time. You're warmly invited to stay for another drink, conversation or a meal of your own choosing. Bring your own food, join our pizza order if arranged in advance, or simply stay for conversation and community.
No partner or previous experience required.
Suggested donation £5 (pay what you can). Donations help us cover costs and continue running community folk music and dance events in our area.
