Follow in the footsteps of famous, historic island photographer, Julia Margaret Cameron on a 2-hour guided walk starting at 11am around the coastal town that inspired her, Freshwater Bay. Julia Margaret Cameron photographed the great and the good of Victorian society. On this walk you will find out about the famous residents of Freshwater Bay and beyond, many of whom were immortalised by Mrs Cameron.Passing through Tennyson’s Farringford estate, the walk then ascends to the iconic Tennyson Down with breath-taking views out over our amazing Isle of Wight Biosphere.
Refreshments are included in the ticket + 1x free admission to the Museum & Galleries until Sunday 30th August.
A three-mile walk on mostly off-road paths with uneven surfaces. Steep hills and inclines throughout. Expect steps and/or stiles. Good level of fitness required.
