No partner or previous experience is required – we'll help you settle in and get dancing.
Curious about Balfolk? Your first Waite Collective event is completely free. Why not bring a friend for their first visit too? Simply select a First Visit ticket when booking.
We'll begin with a friendly workshop introducing and practising some of the dances you'll encounter during the afternoon, followed by dancing to live music from Sue Jones & John Neilson and singing for dancing from Dave Vaughan and The Waite Collective.
We're delighted to welcome Sue Jones & John Neilson, together with Dave Vaughan. Sue’s lively fiddle playing and passion for French dance music combine beautifully with John’s expressive accordion style, creating music full of energy, warmth and character. Adding a different flavour to the afternoon, Dave Vaughan brings traditional Breton songs for dancing, connecting dancers with one of the richest traditions within the Balfolk repertoire. Together they promise a varied and engaging programme for an enjoyable afternoon of Balfolk dancing.
The afternoon includes:
• A friendly Balfolk workshop suitable for both new and experienced dancers.
• Live music from Sue Jones & John Neilson and Dave Vaughan.
• Singing for dancing from The Waite Collective.
• Tea, coffee, cake and fruit during the afternoon.
• Friendly dancers and a welcoming atmosphere.
