Join the Friends of the Storey Gardens and find out about the history of the gardens, with award-winning Blue Badge Tourist Guide and owner of Lancaster Walks, Talks & Tours, Gregory Wright. Gregory will trace the gardens’ history from early roots, to the site of a unique artwork by international artist, Mark Dion.
Towards the end of the talk, Gregory will lead you into the gardens for a closer look, including at Mark Dion’s The Tasting Garden artwork.
This event is free for all. A donation from you will support future public Friends of the Storey Gardens events, and continuing recreation of the artwork, paths and gardens for everyone to enjoy. You can donate, if you wish, when you book your place, or by cash or card at the event. Thank you.
Drinks/snacks are available from The Storey’s Printroom Café & Bar to take in to the talk.
ACCESS INFORMATION: Please note that the lift at the Meeting House Lane entrance will be out of order on this day due to upgrading work. Step free access to the Gardens and Auditorium is available from the Castle Park entrance. Blue badge on street parking is adjacent. The closest public car park is Dallas Road. The Storey is a 5 minute walk from Lancaster railway station.
