Lancaster School of Architecture invites you to join us for a Coastal Futures TEA talks event on Friday October 2nd 2026.
TEA talks are a series of informal talks from our School of Architecture on the theme of Technology, the Environment, and the role of Architecture, now and in the future.
Coastal environments are at the forefront of the climate crisis, due to a combination of factors including sea level rise, increase in risks from flooding and inundations, and coastal erosion. Globally, coastal areas are also the most densely populated areas of the planet, and it is becoming increasingly difficult to ensure the long-term sustainability of coastal cities and towns.
This session brings together researchers and practitioners from academia, practice, and NGO’s to explore the role of architecture, design, and art in building equitable and sustainable futures for our coastal communities.
