About
Gelli Printing is a super versatile and accessible form of printing, which can easily be done at home as there is no need for a printing press. Using acrylic paints and a gel plate this inexpensive technique allows you to have fun with colour and mark making on an array of papers to create unique, one-of-a-kind monoprints full of texture and pattern.During this workshop we'll be looking at how to use leaves in a number of ways with the gel plate - including directly on the plate and as a masks . Allowing you to explore how to create layered images on different weights of paper choosing from an array of coloured and metallic paints . You will go home armed with prints. The images can be stand alone prints or be incorporated into your own artwork , though collage or by scanning and used digitally.
Gelli Printing unlike many forms of printing yields quite quick results which makes it highly addictive.
What's included:
All materials and equipment are provided, plus tea, coffee and biscuits to keep us going. Aprons will be provided, however we will be using acrylic paint which can be difficult to wash out of clothes when dry so please wear clothes you don't mind getting paint on by accident.
Experience levels:
All levels welcome from beginners with no experience to those who have experience of printing and want to add Gelli Printing to their repertoire of mark making techniques.
