In this webinar, Dr Louise Walter will share findings from her recent doctoral research exploring the experiences of parents with limited literacy skills and the challenges they may face when supporting their children with school-based reading activities at home.
Drawing on insights from the study, Louise will consider what these experiences can tell us about current approaches to home-school reading and how schools can better support families with differing literacy needs. The session will also offer practical suggestions for schools looking to review their home-school reading practices and develop approaches that are more accessible and inclusive for parents and families.
