FoWS Christmas Talk-Mrs Godfrey's Regency Winckley Christmas

Location
About
Join us to enjoy a cosy Christmassy afternoon. Be greeted by Christmas music whilst you enjoy a mince pie, mulled wine (0%), hot chocolate, sitting in the very comfortable seats from the Gaumont Cinema. The afternoon includes a Regency Christmas slide show followed by the Winckley Christmas Talk with Susan Douglass.
Mrs. Mary Isabella Godfrey’s genteel school for young ladies in Avenham is the setting for this year’s Christmas talk. The characters are the ageing widow Mrs Godfrey, her young assistant mistress Miss Amelia Senols, gardener Mr. Charles Jackson of Avenham fields and Mr. Isaac Wilcockson, owner/editor of the ‘Preston Chronicle.’
Taking these real people and matching them to real events of the time, discover how they (might have) spent a Regency Christmas in 1814 together.
Susan will once again fascinate you with heart-warming stories, melodrama and some surprising real-life plot-twists. Stories which will make you laugh and possible cry!
