About

Join DG walk leader Sue on this epic Autumnal adventure around some of the best scenic routes in Surrey.

Trade the standard paths for an excursion into the deep green heart of Hampshire! Join Sue and DG Outdoor Adventures for an invigorating 10-mile trek packed with deep wooded valleys, heather-topped crests, and a tranquil, picturesque chain of forest lakes.

We’ll be taking rarely-used trails through ever-changing scenery, passing through charming local villages and taking in sweeping views across the hills. Whether you're looking to challenge your legs, soak in the autumn views, or simply enjoy great company in the fresh air, this walk has it all.

Key Walk Details

  • Distance: 10 miles

  • Pace: Moderate, steady group pace with breaks

  • Terrain: Firm trails, woodland paths, heathland crests, 150m along a main road, and 3 low stiles before the lakes.

  • Footwear: Hiking boots or trail shoes are strongly preferred.

  • Clothing: Dress in weather-appropriate layers. Full-length trousers are recommended as there are a couple of brief patches with nettles and brambles.

What to Bring

  • Packed lunch and snacks

  • Plenty of water/fluids (at least 1.5–2 litres recommended)

  • Waterproof jacket and warm layers

  • Small backpack

Dogs Well-behaved dogs are very welcome! Please bring a lead, as dogs must be kept on-lead across farmland, near livestock, along the short road stretch, and around wildlife areas. The three stiles along the route are low and easily navigable for dogs.
