About
15 Bridges. 1 Epic City. 100% Festive Cheer!
Get on your Santa hats or reindeer antlers and join Jenn from MJ Outdoor Adventures for a festive hike in the capital.
We begin our walk at Putney Bridge, heading east along the Thames Path. This urban adventure takes us across 15 bridges, each with its own unique history and character. As we make our way past Wandsworth, Battersea, and the striking Albert Bridge, we’ll take in views of Battersea Park and the ever-changing skyline.
Crossing Chelsea Bridge and Vauxhall Bridge, we enter central London where landmarks begin to appear at every turn — from MI6 headquarters and the Tate Britain to the soaring spires of Lambeth Palace.
As we pass over Lambeth Bridge and onto Westminster Bridge, we’re met with views of Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament, and the London Eye. Over Hungerford Bridge and continuing along the South Bank, we cross Waterloo Bridge, where you’ll catch glimpses of Somerset House, St Paul’s Cathedral, and The Shard.
Our route continues over Blackfriars Bridge, past the riverside theatre scene of the Globe, and across the sleek, modern Millennium Bridge, leading us toward the imposing dome of St Paul’s.
Next, we cross Southwark Bridge and then London Bridge, steeped in history and offering views of Tower Bridge just ahead. Our final crossing is London’s most iconic — Tower Bridge — where we finish our walk at the historic Tower of London.
This point-to-point urban hike is rich in history, architecture, and city views. With plenty of cafés, green spaces, and public toilets along the way, it's ideal for a day of sightseeing at walking pace.
Dress for the weather as it may well be cold with plenty of fluids and food for the jouney ahead.
The meeting location is outside Putney Bridge Tube Station Approach, London SW6 3UH at 9am
