Learning from Land & Sea Teacher Training 22 Oct, Morecambe

Join a series of engaging continuing professional development (CPD) workshops designed to help teachers build confidence in environmental and climate education.

The session on Thursday 22nd October will take place at More Music, Morecambe and on the nearby shores of Morecambe Bay.

These sessions are open to both primary and secondary school teachers. Sessions will support you to help young people connect with nature, explore local habitats and wildlife, and discuss climate change and positive action.

Each full-day workshop, led by a local environmental expert, focuses on Morecambe Bay’s coastal ecosystem, and includes practical activities, discussion, and outdoor learning.

You can attend any single session—choose the one that best suits your school’s location and availability. Places are limited to 10 per workshop, with funded places available per workshop to help cover teacher release time.

The sessions are managed by the charity Morecambe Bay Partnership, generously funded by the Penny Conservation Charity and delivered by an expert trainer.

About the Trainer: Gemma Wren is an ecologist with over 15 years’ experience in the Morecambe Bay area. She has worked across the nature conservation sector, from ranger roles to leading teams and managing large-scale conservation projects in northern England. Formerly with the National Trust, she managed several nature reserves around the bay. She now runs her own consultancy and a small wildlife tour company, sharing her knowledge of the area’s wildlife and landscapes
