Discovery Lab – The Science of  You!
Saturday 14 November | 9.00am–11.00am
School Years 5 & 6

Calling all curious minds and budding scientists!

Our next Warminster Workshop is taking us inside the fascinating world of the human body – and we're inviting children in Years 5 & 6 to become scientists for the morning! Step inside our fantastic Wessex Science Centre, home to our specialist Biology laboratories, for a hands-on morning of experiments, exploration and discovery.

Ever wondered what makes your heart beat faster, how your lungs work or what your blood is actually made of? This is your chance to find out!

During the morning, our young scientists will:

Make their own 'blood' – exploring what blood is made of and why it's so important.

Put their hearts to the test – investigating how exercise affects heart rate.

Explore the power of their lungs – measuring lung function and discovering how we breathe.

Get an extraordinary insight into anatomy – watching a heart dissection demonstration and discovering how this remarkable organ works.

Led by one of our specialist Biology teachers, this promises to be a morning packed with fascinating facts, practical experiments and plenty of opportunities to ask questions, investigate and get stuck in!

Our Warminster Workshops give children the chance to try something different, learn from our specialist teachers, make new friends and experience some of the fantastic facilities and opportunities available at Warminster School.

Places are limited, so grab your lab coat and join us for a morning of scientific discovery at Warminster!
