Wild Roots: Nature & Natural Dyes Walk

About
Come and join us for a tour of the nature trail at Claver Hill and
see what natural wonders we can discover (last year we found newly-emerged ladybirds before they had darkened into their ‘proper’ adult colours), before we look at a range of plants in the dye garden.
Ros Jones is the founder and festival director of Wild Roots. Enda O’Regan is one of the forces of nature driving Sewing Cafe Lancaster, with a knowledge of natural-dye plants and their uses.
Accessibility:
- Claver Hill has accessible paths through the main part of the site, but not the entirety.
- If you use a wheelchair or mobility scooter please let us know on the booking form so that we can provide additional information, if needed.
What to wear:
- Weather-appropriate clothes, which may include a waterproof coat or a sun hat
What to bring along:
- A bottle of water to ensure you stay hydrated
Parking and Meeting Point:
- The what3words location for the meeting point is ///overpaid.plums.everyone
- There is very little public parking at Claver Hill so please come on foot, bicyle or public transport.
- The number 10 bus runs hourly from town, with the first bus on Sunday arriving at Ridge Shops at 10.40am. It is about a 10 minute walk from there to Claver Hill.
- Please visit www.wildlifewalk.co.uk/location to find how to reach us.
Cancellation
We will only cancel the event in the case of extreme weather warning being issued by the Met Office. This is most likely to be wind-related.
We will not cancel in event of rainy or sunny weather.
This workhop is led by Ros Jones and Enda O'Regan.
This event is part of Wild Roots Nature Fest, running from 6th to 14th June 2026.
