This six-week sewing course is ideal for those who have already completed the beginners course, or are returning to sewing and want to improve their sewing skills and confidence. It would be helpful to have your own sewing machine and be prepared to do the occasional bit of homework to keep on track. Please note you do not need to bring your sewing machine to class, these are provided by The Cowshed, along with donated fabrics.
This course will take you through intermediate sewing projects to advance your sewing skills. Not all projects are finished in one week. Some projects will spill over into the following week, allowing each sewist to work at their own pace.
Sessions take place every Saturday 9.30am - 12.30pm for six weeks.
Once your booking is confirmed, you will receive a list of any extra supplies needed for each project. This will help you decide whether to use free donated fabric from The Cowshed or buy your own. The list will also show which additional items you need to purchase, such as wadding, binding, or zips, as these are not always available from The Cowshed.
In this six week period you will be making a padded glasses case, a zipped cosmetic bag, a quilted vest (sleeveless jacket) and heat-resistant placemats.
Please Note: Our sewing classes are designed with adults in mind. We do welcome 16- and 17-year-olds accompanied by an adult.
