About
Set in Elizabethan England, Hamnet by Maggie O’Farrell tells the story of a family shaped by love, loss, and the pressures of everyday life. It focuses on Agnes, a deeply intuitive woman, her husband - a struggling playwright - and their children living in Stratford-upon-Avon.
At its heart, the novel explores family bonds and how one unexpected event ripples through their lives, influencing both their future and the father’s creative work. It’s a quiet, emotional story about grief, connection, and the human experience behind a famous piece of literature.
