None of us begins life as a blank slate. Our sense of what is possible is shaped by family influences, cultural expectations, and the social environments in which we grow up. These inherited patterns often guide our choices long before we begin reflecting on them consciously. This talk explores how philosophy invites us to examine the lives we inherit, and how greater awareness of these influences can open space for more thoughtful decisions about the lives we gradually create for ourselves.
