A creative workshop exploring sound, music and Gaelic folklore in the duneland ecotone.
This family friendly workshop in the Findhorn Hinterland invites participants to explore the duneland and forest edge through listening, sound mapping and playful creative responses to its rhythms and stories, opening up new ways of noticing and connecting with nature.
The workshop is part of Ecotones, Siannie and Cameron’s ongoing composition project exploring Scotland’s landscapes, ecology and the places where different habitats meet.
Join clàrsach player Siannie Moodie and fiddle player Cameron Newell for an outdoor workshop exploring the sounds, stories and music of the natural world.
Siannie is a Scottish clàrsach player from Ross-shire, based in Edinburgh. Performing across Scotland and internationally, she combines Scottish traditional, historical and Gaelic music with original composition, storytelling and community engagement.
Cameron Newell is a fiddle player and composer from Edinburgh who draws inspiration from the natural world in his music. He is also a trained forest school leader and has years of experience facilitating nature connection workshops in outdoor community and education settings.
No musical experience necessary. All ages welcome.
