Children grow out of toys so quickly, and something that has been sitting unused at home could become another child's new favourite!
Our Christmas Toy Swap is a fun, affordable and sustainable way for local families to pass on toys they no longer need and discover some exciting new-to-them toys in return.
Come along, enjoy a relaxed afternoon at The Nurture Nook and let the children choose something special to take home.

🧸 How Does the Toy Swap Work?
It's really simple!
1️⃣ Bring your unwanted toys
Bring along clean, good-quality toys that your children have outgrown or no longer play with.
You can bring up to 10 toys per family.
Toys can include:
🧸 Soft toys
🚗 Cars and vehicles
🦖 Dinosaurs and animals
🧱 LEGO and building toys
🎨 Craft sets
🎲 Games and puzzles
📚 Children's books
👗 Dressing-up clothes
🪆 Dolls and figures
🌳 Outdoor toys
👶 Baby and toddler toys
…and much more!
Toys should be clean, safe, complete and in good condition, ready for another child to enjoy.
We will check all toys before they are added to the swap.

2️⃣ Receive your swap tokens 🎟️
Each toy will be given a token value depending on its size and type.
1 token – small toys and books
2 tokens – medium toys, games and sets
3 tokens – larger toys and bigger sets
Your toys will be checked when you arrive and you'll receive the appropriate number of tokens.
These tokens are then your swap currency!

3️⃣ Visit our Christmas Toy Shop 🎁
Once you've received your tokens, it's time to browse!
We'll have the toys organised into different areas to make it easy for children and parents to find something they'll love.
Take your time looking around, choose your new-to-you toys and use your tokens to "pay" for them.
The aim is to swap, not shop — so please only choose toys up to the value of the tokens you've earned.

🎟️ What if I run out of tokens?
Don't worry!
If you've used all your swap tokens but find something you'd really love to take home, additional tokens will be available to purchase on the day.
1 extra token – £1
4 extra tokens – £3
Extra tokens are intended to give families a little flexibility, rather than allowing the event to become a traditional toy sale.
If you don't have toys to swap, we also want you to be able to join in.
No toys to swap?
You can purchase an entry option that includes a small number of tokens, so every family has the opportunity to take part.

🎄 Make It Extra Special
We want this to feel like more than simply swapping toys.
Children will be able to enjoy some Christmas fun alongside the swap, with festive activities and a cosy atmosphere at The Nurture Nook.
We'll also have:
🎨 A Christmas craft activity
🎁 A Christmas wrapping station
☕ Hot drinks for grown-ups
🍪 Christmas treats
🎄 Festive decorations
🧸 Lots of toys to discover!
Children can even wrap their new-to-them toy ready to put under the Christmas tree — or take it home and play with it straight away!

❤️ Giving Back
Have toys that you don't need anything in return for?
You can choose to donate them rather than swap them.
We'll have the option to donate toys for families who may benefit from them this Christmas.
Because Christmas should be about sharing, community and making sure every child has something to smile about. ❤️

🚫 What Can I Bring?
We want to make sure everything in our Toy Shop is safe and suitable for children.
Please bring:
✔️ Clean toys
✔️ Toys in good condition
✔️ Complete games and puzzles
✔️ Toys that are safe and suitable for children
✔️ Items that you would be happy for your own child to receive
Please don't bring:
❌ Broken or damaged toys
❌ Dirty or heavily stained toys
❌ Toys with missing essential pieces
❌ Items with mould or strong smells
❌ Unsafe or recalled toys
❌ Used car seats or other safety equipment
❌ Anything that isn't suitable for children
The Nurture Nook reserves the right to refuse any item that we feel is unsuitable for the Toy Swap.

🎅 A Few Things to Remember
🧸 Please bring a maximum of 10 toys per family.
🎟️ Toys will be checked and valued by The Nurture Nook team.
🎁 Tokens can only be used during the Toy Swap event.
💷 Additional tokens can be purchased on the day if required.
👨👩👧 Children must remain supervised by their accompanying adult throughout the event.
❤️ Toys donated to the event cannot be guaranteed to be returned.
