Working entirely through the dedication of volunteers, the HTPG is restoring Hawker Typhoon RB396 - the only surviving combat veteran example of the type known to exist outside the RAF Museum. Their mission is to return this remarkable aircraft to the skies while preserving the legacy of the crews who flew and maintained the Typhoon during WWII.
Visitors will have the rare opportunity to see significant sections of the aircraft on display, offering a unique insight into the scale and complexity of this extraordinary restoration project.
Throughout the day, Project Director Sam Worthington-Leese and Research Manager Andrew Boakes will deliver two engaging presentations covering the story behind the project, its achievements over the past decade, and the latest progress on the rebuild of RB396.
The event will also mark the launch of a brand new Limited Edition print by Richard Taylor, inspired by the legendary Hawker Typhoon.
We're also hoping to welcome a selection of visiting warbirds during the day, subject to weather and operational conditions.
Whether you're passionate about historic aviation, aircraft engineering or preserving Britain's aviation heritage, this promises to be a fascinating opportunity to meet the team behind one of the country's most significant restoration projects.
