Strawberry Hill Community Choir sings Vivaldi's Gloria!

About
For this year's December concert. Strawberry Hill Community Choir is accompanied by a string quartet and professional soloists. We have a beautiful programme for you:
Gloria in D Major (R589)
It's incredible to think that Vivaldi's Gloria lay forgotten for almost 300 years after his death until it was rediscovered in the 1930s. Today this glorious piece, full of passion and drama, is universally loved as one of his most important compositions, and it's a Christmas favourite.
A Season to Sing
This is Joanna Forbes L’Estrange’s choral re-imagining of Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons. This work was composed to mark its 300th anniversary in 2025. The work became an instant global hit with over 50 performances across five continents in its first year. We'll be singing excerpts that resonate with everyone.
And of course we'll be asking you to join us in some seasonal songs!
Strawberry Hill Community Choir is a friendly, vibrant local choir, growing fast with more than 50 singers. We’re non-auditioned, open to everyone, even if you don’t read music and you’ve never sung in a choir before!
