About
Launching on Saturday 7 November, our brand-new Dance Academy at Queen Anne’s School welcomes children aged 3 and upwards, with three exciting programmes designed to inspire a lifelong love of dance.
Our vision is to inspire excellence and nurture ability, whilst making dance a worthwhile, enjoyable and rewarding experience for every child, whatever their age, experience or starting point. Whether taking their very first steps in dance, dancing purely for enjoyment, or aspiring to develop their skills to a high level, every student will be encouraged to discover their potential and take pride in their progress.
✨ First Steps | Ages 3–5
9.00–9.45am | £9 per class
A fun and playful introduction to movement, music and dance. First Steps is designed to nurture young children's natural creativity and imagination, helping them develop coordination, confidence and a love of moving to music in a warm and encouraging environment.
✨ Next Steps | Ages 6–8
9.45–10.45am | £10 per class
Building confidence, technique and performance skills through Ballet, Jazz and Tap. These classes introduce young dancers to a range of styles while developing strong foundations, musicality and an enjoyment of learning and performing.
✨ Dance Classes | Ages 8+
From 10.45am | £10 per class
For dancers ready to explore their skills further, our Dance Classes offer a choice of Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical and Contemporary Dance. Students will be encouraged to develop their technique, artistry, musicality and performance skills, with opportunities to challenge themselves and progress at their own pace.
Across all three programmes, we believe that excellence and enjoyment go hand in hand. Our classes will be carefully structured to support different ages and abilities, ensuring that every dancer feels appropriately challenged, supported and inspired. Whether a child dreams of pursuing dance more seriously or simply wants to dance, have fun, keep active and express themselves creatively, there will be a place for them at the Academy.
Dance offers so much more than technical development. Through participation, students will build self-confidence, resilience, discipline, teamwork and creativity, while forming friendships and becoming part of a vibrant and supportive dance community.
Led by Vicky Powell, Head of Dance at Queen Anne’s, our small classes offer expert tuition, plenty of encouragement and the opportunity for every dancer to shine. With individual attention and a focus on each dancer's personal progress, we aim to create an environment where children feel confident to try, learn, improve and celebrate their achievements.
Above all, the Queen Anne’s School Dance Academy will be a place where every dancer is welcomed, inspired and encouraged to flourish — developing their ability, discovering their confidence and, most importantly, developing a lifelong love of dance.
