About
What is the event?
We are excited to invite you to our new community of practice event celebrating neurodiversity, inclusion and innovation for healthier communities. This is a collaboration between our local health, social and VCFSE partners.
Who is it for?
This event is aimed at anyone who has an interest or lived experience of neurodiversity whether that is in a professional or personal way or both. We want to bring people together to start a conversation.
The details of the day
(we hope people can stay for the whole day but you do not have to stay for both sessions)
Morning Session 9.30-12
- We are planning to have speakers from NHS, VCFSE and lived experience voices to share national, regional and personal perspectives.
Afternoon session 1-4pm
- We are planning a World Cafe which is facilitated group discussion method designed to help large groups explore questions, share ideas, and generate collective insights in a conversational, inclusive way.
What do we hope to get from the day?
Our objectives for the day is that all attendees will have:
- Have increased understanding of neurodiversity and belonging.
- Build relationships across health, education, VCFSE, local authorities and communities.
- Identify shared priorities for Morecambe Bay.
- Generate practical actions to improve inclusion.
- Establish an ongoing Community of Practice network
- Once we have confirmed all speakers, an agenda will be shared on this site.
Accessiblity and Housekeeping

How to find us
Health Innovation One building is on the A6 just south of the city of Lancaster. It is close to junction 33 of the M6 motorway, or a short bus ride from Lancaster railway station.
If you are driving, search for LA1 4AT in Google/Apple maps. Do not use sat navs as some older models may not have been updated and will not instruct you to the correct location. Please note that the Health Innovation Campus is accessed via Sir John Fisher Drive and not the main University entrance.

Parking
How to pay
- The car park at Health Innovation One has cameras for automatic number plate recognition. Parking can be paid for via the ticket machine or via RingGo; to avoid queues at the machine we advise that visitors download the RingGo app before arrival.
- The RingGo code for this location is 46240.
Parking overflow
- In the event that there are no available spaces in the Health Innovation Campus car park, other car parks are available. We would recommend the car parks marked L and K here.
