About
The Junior Competition Final of the Ashburnham English Song Awards brings together selected young artists from leading schools across the South East to perform English Song and compete before a panel of world-renowned judges. The competition was first held in 2023 as a spin off from the Senior Awards set up by local mezzo soprano, Louise Winter. A key objective of the Awards is to work with students from an early age to revive and foster an interest in English Song - a precious part of our heritage with music and poetry going back to the 16th century.
