Menopause at Work in Manufacturing SMEs
Manufacturing environments present unique opportunities and challenges when supporting employees experiencing menopause. Factors such as shift patterns, workplace temperatures, PPE requirements, physically demanding roles, and production schedules can all influence someone's experience at work.
This practical two-hour online workshop is designed specifically for owners, directors, managers, supervisors and HR professionals working within manufacturing SMEs.
Led by Jenny Bowers, Founder Director of Purplemoon and a Henpicked Licensed Menopause in the Workplace Trainer, the session helps leaders build understanding, confidence and practical skills to support employees experiencing menopause while maintaining a productive, inclusive and safe working environment.
During the workshop, you will:
- Understand menopause and how symptoms can affect people at work.
- Explore the potential impact of workplace factors such as shifts, PPE, temperature and physical demands.
- Build confidence in having supportive and appropriate conversations.
- Consider practical workplace adjustments that may be relevant within manufacturing settings.
- Understand the role of managers and leaders in creating a supportive culture.
- Explore how menopause awareness can support wellbeing, retention and workforce engagement.
- Learn where to access reliable information, guidance and support.
Research shows that many employees experiencing menopause consider leaving work due to symptoms. For manufacturing businesses facing skills shortages and recruitment challenges, retaining experienced employees is more important than ever.
By the end of the session, you will have increased understanding, greater confidence and practical actions you can take to support employees and strengthen your workplace culture.
