Menstrual Health at Work in Manufacturing SMEs
Manufacturing environments present unique considerations when supporting employee health and wellbeing. Factors such as shift work, physically demanding roles, workplace facilities, PPE requirements and production schedules can all influence the workplace experience of someone experiencing menstrual health challenges.
This practical two-hour online workshop is designed specifically for owners, directors, managers, supervisors and HR professionals working within manufacturing SMEs.
Led by Jenny Bowers, Founder Director of Purplemoon, the session explores how greater awareness of menstrual health can contribute to employee wellbeing, engagement, retention and workplace inclusion, while helping leaders feel more confident in responding appropriately and supportively.
During the workshop, you will:
- Increase your understanding of menstrual health and common menstrual health conditions.
- Explore how symptoms can affect wellbeing, concentration, attendance and workplace performance.
- Consider the impact of manufacturing-specific factors, including shifts, PPE and physically demanding work.
- Build confidence in having supportive and professional conversations.
- Explore practical workplace adjustments and support measures.
- Understand the role of managers and leaders in creating an inclusive workplace culture.
- Learn where to access reliable information, guidance and support.
Many people experience menstrual health challenges during their working lives, yet the topic is often poorly understood or difficult to discuss. For manufacturing businesses, improving awareness can help create a workplace where employees feel supported, valued and able to perform at their best.
By the end of the session, you will have increased understanding, greater confidence and practical actions that can be applied within your own workplace.
Suitable for: Manufacturing business owners, directors, managers, supervisors, team leaders, HR professionals and anyone responsible for people management, wellbeing or workplace culture.
