About

Supporting Menopause at Work: A Workshop for MHFAs

Mental Health First Aiders are often trusted colleagues and approachable points of contact for employees experiencing challenges at work. Increasingly, this includes conversations about menopause.

While MHFAs are not expected to be menopause experts, a greater understanding of menopause can help them listen confidently, respond appropriately, and signpost colleagues to relevant support and resources.

This practical two-hour online workshop is designed specifically for Mental Health First Aiders, wellbeing champions, employee support champions and others with a wellbeing-focused role within SMEs.

Led by Jenny Bowers, Founder Director of Purplemoon and a Henpicked Licensed Menopause in the Workplace Trainer, the session provides practical knowledge, confidence and tools to support colleagues whilst remaining within the MHFA role and boundaries.

During the session, you will:

  • Increase your understanding of menopause and its potential impact at work.
  • Recognise how menopause symptoms may affect wellbeing, confidence and mental health.
  • Build confidence in having supportive and compassionate conversations.
  • Understand the boundaries of the MHFA and champion role.
  • Explore effective signposting and support options.
  • Learn how to contribute to a menopause-supportive workplace culture.
  • Consider your own wellbeing when supporting others.

By the end of the workshop, you will:

  • Feel more confident responding to menopause-related conversations.
  • Understand where and how to signpost colleagues for further support.
  • Have practical tools to use within your champion or MHFA role.
  • Be better equipped to help create a supportive and inclusive workplace environment.

Suitable for: Mental Health First Aiders, Wellbeing Champions, Employee Support Champions, Inclusion Champions, People Leads and others with a wellbeing-focused responsibility within SMEs.
