Charles Dickens has always been associated with Christmas ever since the publication of ‘A Christmas Carol’, on December 19th, 1843. It sold six thousand copies in five days and is still going strong, so join us for a festive evening and find out how Charles Dickens and the Victorians celebrated Christmas and listen to a reading from everyone’s favourite Christmas story.
Take Dickens’s advice and “Fill your glass, with a merry face and a contented heart… your Christmas shall be happy…“.
