Over the last year, we have been undertaking research listening to people from different communities across Lancaster & Morecambe District, exploring their experiences of living here, what matters to them, and the challenges they face and their hopes for the future.
Now we want to bring those conversations together.
We’d like to invite you to Who Are We?, an event that will share some of the key insights, themes and artworks emerging from this research, but more importantly, use them as a starting point for a wider conversation about the future of our district.
We want to bring together people from across our communities, public services, businesses, education, health, the voluntary and community sector to ask:
- What does the research tell us about who we are today?
- What are the strengths of our people, places and communities that we want to build upon?
- Where do people’s experiences of living in our district differ?
- What do we want Lancaster & Morecambe district to look and feel like in five years’ time?
- What might we need to do differently, and together, to get there?
Imagine it’s 2031...
Lancaster & Morecambe district has become an even better place to live, work, grow up and grow older.
What’s different? What are we proud of? What have we changed? And what did we do together to make it happen?
This won’t simply be a presentation. We want to create a space for conversation, curiosity and ambition, bringing together what we have heard from communities with the knowledge, experiences and ideas of people in the room.
Our ambition for Lancaster & Morecambe district should be a shared one, shaped by the voices, experiences and hopes of the people who live and work here.
