Governors and Ofsted Inspections.

Tuesday 10 January 2023
School inspections changed in September 2019. Since then, there has been an emphasis on developing a strong reading culture and an ambition that every child should be a successful reader. At the same time, there has been an expectation that all schools should have a broad and balanced curriculum, a strong curriculum intent and an expectation that successful subject leaders are having a positive impact on teaching and learning. Many features of the inspection framework have remained, including the continued focus on safeguarding. This course covers all of this and more and has the following objectives: • To understand the reasons and rationale behind the current inspection framework. • To consider the key areas that governors are likely to be asked about. • To think about the documentation or items on the school website that will be most useful to governors. • To reflect on what governors can do to make sure that they are well-prepared for an inspection.
