Monday tours of the Hannah Frank 110th Birthday exhibition

Between Monday 7 January 2019 and Monday 4 February 2019
A tour of the show with Fiona Frank the artist's niece, or one of our knowledgeable Glasgow Uni history of art students at 2.15 p.m. on Mondays. The tours will map Hannah Frank’s development from her early works as a talented university student to her later drawings & subsequent focus on sculpture. We will look at the creation process, as well as discussing the principal motifs & techniques that constitute her unique, mystical style.

The Scottish Jewish Archives (SJAC) at Garnethill Synagogue, holds an extensive collection of Hannah Frank's scrapbooks, papers and letters. You can visit the SJAC during the life of the current Hannah Frank 110th birthday art exhibition - at their open day on the afternoon of Sunday 3 Feb, 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Will include a tour of the Archives, a tour of the historic Garnethill Synagogue, and a chance to handle items from the HFLCC collection. Family Workshop: make a Hannah Frank themed Chanukah card

It's the Jewish Festival of Lights - Chanukah - this week!    Hannah Frank, a Glasgow Jewish artist, was born 110 years ago in 1908. This workshop for families with children from 5-10 yrs old, takes place at the 110th birthday exhibition of Hannah Frank's art. Learn about Chanukah & make a chanukah card based on Hannah Frank's work, with artist Abi Pirani. This event is supported by the Scottish Council of Jewish Communities (SCoJeC).  Kosher snacks & all materials will be provided.  Free.
