This is a blended learning course. All candidates must complete the compulsory e-learning module prior to the scheduled course date. At the time of booking, please provide the full name and email address of each candidate so that we can issue login details and access instructions. Who is this qualification for? This qualification is aimed at individuals wishing to become a paediatric first-aider in the workplace with a responsibility for the welfare of infants and children. This qualification is intended for learners already working or preparing to work in the industry and it meets the requirements for paediatric first aid outlined in the Early Years Foundation Stage. How long will it take? Pre-Course E-learning (approximately 6 hours) 1 Day course: 9am - 4:30pm Topics covered Topics include the role and responsibilities of the paediatric first-aider and providing first aid for an infant or a child who is unresponsive. The qualification also covers how to administer first aid to an infant or a child with head and spinal injuries, who is choking or suffering from anaphylaxis. Assessment method This qualification is assessed by practical demonstration and multiple-choice theory test.

This Level 4 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace RQF qualification is assessed in two parts: Part 1: Externally set and marked activities. Learners are expected to undertake the following activities: Undertake a risk assessment Construct a safe system of work Part 2: A 3-hour written examination that contains a case study of a fictional business which outlines its current health and safety standards, policies and procedures.
