Weekend Workshop - One Sheet Wonder Cards! (CANCELLED)

Sunday 7 June 2026
Experienced papercrafter Elisabeth will be showing us how to make the most of our card supplies, by making multiple greetings cards from one sheet of 12" x 12" paper. We'll provide the template and the ideas and of course you'll have your choice of paper from the enormous selection available at the Scrapstore. Then it's down to you - you could make anything from 3 to 10 cards in the time available, depending on how detailed you choose to make them. (We suggest bringing your own cutting equipment if you have items you are accustomed to using - paper trimmer, metal ruler, sharp knife, scissors, etc, as that will help you to work faster. We will have some to borrow if you need.) £15 for non-members and £12.50 for members (you'll need your membership number to book the reduced rate.) Please email if you have any questions.

Beginner's Crochet

Tues 23rd & 30th June, 7th July, 7-9pm
In this three-part course we will cover the basics of crochet. We'll talk about choosing hooks and yarn, reading a pattern, understanding differences in terminology, and of course we'll work on the basic stitches. Along the way we'll make some fun and useful creations to practice our new skills. We'll provide the hooks and the yarn and all the instructions, which you can take away with you at the end of the course to continue your crochet journey, along with pointers to useful resources. (And there will also be hot drinks and biscuits, of course!) PLEASE NOTE: This is a three-part course and you will need to attend all three sessions. (We also suggest that you spend some time practising between the sessions to get the most out of the experience.) This course is aimed at adults 16+

Weekend Workshop - Kinusaiga Fabric Art

Sunday 5 July 2026
Kinusaiga is a traditional Japanese "no-sew" quilting technique where fabric scraps (often from kimonos) are tucked into grooves on a flat surface to create vivid, textured patchwork pictures, often referred to as "silk painting". Modern adaptations use dense foam boards, making this sustainable, accessible, and relaxing art form a popular way to create detailed landscape or floral art without using a needle or thread. You'll have plenty of fabric choice from the selection in the Scrapstore - and you can of course bring along your own fabric if you have some that you would particularly like to include in your work. You will also need to bring along a suitable image - this needs to fit on a 8" x 8" square. We suggest looking for stained glass images or templates online. You will need to print it out and bring to the workshop as we won't have printing facilities available on the day. You could also choose to draw your image directly onto the board - or maybe do some combination of printing and drawing if the image you like isn't quite the right size or format. (Obviously the more detailed your design, the longer it will take, so if you choose something with lots of small sections you may not finish within the two hours.) £15 for non-members and £12.50 for members (you'll need your membership number to book the reduced rate.) This workshop is for adults and accompanied young people aged 12+ due to the use of sharp objects. Please email if you have any questions.

Holiday Thursday Make & Take - Sun Catchers

Thursday 28 May 2026
We're being optimistic and assuming there will be sun at some point this year, so let's make the most of it and create beautiful sun catchers. Taking plastic from recycled book jackets donated by the local library, we'll design something colourful using felt pens, and then add beads and charms to finish it off. (There should be time to make multiple suncatchers in this session.) This session is for accompanied children and is suitable for all ages. (Please book tickets for all adults and children who will be attending - the adult tickets are free, but it allows us to make sure we have enough space for everyone!) These sessions are supported by a grant from Bognor Regis Town Council and include a healthy snack.
