We will be staying at the Lochranza Centre on the north of the island. The accommodation is in shared bunkrooms (2-4 people sharing) with ensuite bathrooms. All meals, activities and accommodation are included in the cost of the Shabbaton. Participants are responsible for booking their own transportation, although recommended transport links will be sent to registered participants.
Note - this Shabbaton is aimed at those aged 22-40, but all are welcome (18+), please be in touch with Sydney at sydney@scojec.org if you have any questions about whether this Shabbaton will be a good fit for you.
All activities on the Shabbaton will be Shabbat observant, and we would encourage all participants to use this opportunity to unplug and settle into the Shabbat vibe. All food will be both kosher and vegetarian.

Facing our differences:Launch of A Jewish-Christian Glossary
Wednesday 19 June 2024
Join us online for a panel discussion hosted by Revd Dr Nathan Eddy (Council of Christians and Jews). Our esteemed panellists will discuss the creation of a Jewish-Christian glossary by the Church of Scotland and the Office of the Chief Rabbi.
The glossary explores various terms significant to both Judaism and Christianity. The intention behind this project is to help members of each faith appreciate their differences as well as similarities, by providing a
model that focuses on language to inspire respect and curiosity. By using many of the same terms such as ‘justice’, ‘grace’ and ‘covenant’ the glossary helps uncover how the same words can be used and heard
very differently.
Our webinar will delve into the process of compiling the glossary, explore some of the terms in depth, and discuss the potential impact on future collaboration/dialogue. The discussion will be followed by an opportunity for the audience to ask questions.
