Rosewell Talk with Llewelyn Morgan

Llewelyn Morgan is a Classicist at Brasenose College, Oxford, and has been since the last century. He works on anything in Latin and a lot in Ancient Greek and is currently Head of the Classics Faculty at Oxford, the largest Classics department on Earth (although it is still smaller than the Oxford English department). He has recently written very short Introductions to Ovid and Horace, and edited a new edition of a late-nineteenth-century newspaper composed entirely in Latin.

Dr Paul Morland is an author and broadcaster who writes and speaks about population and the big demographic trends across the world, both contemporary and historic.
Described as the 'UK's leading demographer' (Scottish Herald) and 'one of the world's pre-eminent demographers' (Mercator), Paul has written four books: 'No One Left', ‘Tomorrow’s People’, ‘The Human Tide’ and ‘Demographic Engineering’ and his work has been translated into nine languages. He has written for and been interviewed in many of the world’s leading newspapers and magazines including the Financial Times, the Sunday Times, The Telegraph, The Toronto Globe and Mail, Der Spiegel and the Jerusalem Post. He has broadcast on many outlets including BBC Radio 4.

This is a version of the much-loved story of Madeline, by Ludwig Bemelmans: the adventurous young girl who lives in a school Paris, engaging in all sorts of antics around the city. Girls in Year 8 drama club have been devising some of their own scenes around the ideas of emotions displayed by Madeline and her friends, which have been combined these into a script by Darcey in Y10.

Young Musician of the Year 2024-25 - Piano & Percussion

Our Pianists and Percussionists take to the stage to compete for a place in the final. The adjudicator for this event is Justin Tambini, a top London-based drummer who plays all over the UK and around the world, and who has played at some amazing venues including Ronnie Scott's, Pizza Express Live in Soho, and in London's West End.
The competition will start at 6pm (refreshments from 5.40pm) and finish at approximately 7.30pm.

Dr Sanam Vakil is the director of Chatham House’s Middle East and North Africa Programme where they conduct policy relevant research and analysis covering all aspects of Middle East politics. She is also the James Anderson professorial lecturer in the Middle East Studies department at the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS Europe) in Bologna, Italy.
