Hovercraft Museum
About
The site (Daedalus) dates back to the early 1900s and was the busiest airfield during D-Day. It has served a wealth of purposes over the years. The investigation includes:
- "The Princess Anne" - the sole surviving 320t cross-channel hovercraft
- "The Front Hangar" - a listed WW1 seaplane hangar containing a number of smaller hovercraft
- "The Main Hangar" - a slightly newer (than the front hangar) WW1 hangar which contains some of our larger exhibits. Within this hangar there are two hovercraft which can be boarded and investigated.
- "The Lean-to" - an adjoining extension to "The Main Hangar" which contains a number of hovercraft.
