Fri 10 – Sun 12 Jul (Caroline)Join Caroline & Iain in the gorgeous Cotswolds on a 2 night 3 day weekend to The Tewksbury Medieval Festival. The largest free medieval gathering of its kind in Europe, Its central feature is a spectacular re-enactment of the battle of Tewksbury (decisive in the War of the Roses) on part of the original 1471 battle site. There’s a medieval market, food and drink, and a wide range of period entertainment. There are also associated events in the town, which is decorated with authentic medieval banners during the festival period.
If men walloping each other with halberds isn’t your thing, we’ll be staying at the beautiful Tewksbury Park Hotel and Spa, where you can enjoy the pool and all the other amenities on offer. It also has a great car park for the bikes.
I’m still tweaking the finer details, so costs and mileage to be finalised, but as a rough guide:
