Historic England is hosting the next Preserving Archaeological Remains in situ (PARIS) conference in May 2026 at our London office. This page gives you a brief overview of the event and lets you book a ticket.

The conference is a two-day hybrid event with in-person and online attendance available. The event will not be recorded and no single day tickets are available.

TIMETABLE

• Thursday 14th May – Optional registration at the conference venue from 3pm to 7pm. If you haven’t been before, you could also visit the Mithraeum (https://www.londonmithraeum.com/) which is less than 200m away.  

• We will be hosting an optional drop-in welcome session on Thursday for those who are staying overnight in advance of the conference at the George and Vulture, 3 Castle Ct, London EC3V 9AE from 6:30pm to 9pm. Food and drink will be available to purchase. If you are interested in coming, please add this when booking.
• Friday 15^th May – Conference Day 1. In-person registration from 9am. Sessions run from 10am to 5:30pm.
• There is an in-person conference reception on Friday at the venue (included within the in-person ticket price) from 5:30pm to 7:15pm. This will be followed by a conference dinner at The India (2 St Mary at Hill) at 7:45pm. The cost will be £25 for a set menu of a mixed platter of starters, followed by a selection of main courses for the table, with rice and naan to share. Drinks not included. [https://theindia.org.uk/]
• Saturday 16^th May – Conference day 2. Sessions run from 9:30am to 5:30pm.
• Sunday 17^th May – Optional walking tour of London Preservation in situ sites, led by Jane Sidell. If you are interested in coming on this tour, please add this free option to your booking (so we know numbers). More details will be provided shortly. Likely timing 10am to 3pm. There will not be any access to the conference venue on Sunday but we are trying to organise a bag drop near the start of the tour at St Mary at Hill.

If in person tickets are sold out, please contact the conference organiser if you would like to be added to a waiting list, in event of a place becoming available (through cancellation etc).
