Join us for an unforgettable night celebrating the spirit of rugby and raising vital funds for the My Name'5 Doddie Foundation!
Hosted by Dougie Vipond, this special evening brings together some of the biggest names in rugby for a lively Q&A session. Hear their stories, relive iconic moments, and get behind-the-scenes insights into the game we all love.
Confirmed Guests:
- Franco Smith, Glasgow Warriors Head Coach: Smith joined Glasgow Warriors from the Italian Rugby Federation, where he had served as Head of High Performance since 2021 and previously as the men’s national Head Coach from 2020. A former Springbok, Smith made a try-scoring debut against Scotland at Murrayfield and won nine caps for his country between 1996 and 1999. Under his leadership, the Glasgow Warriors won the United Rugby Championship (URC) title. Smith led his side to a 21–16 victory in the Grand Final against his former team, the South African giants The Bulls, at Loftus Versfeld in Pretoria.
- Kyle Steyn: A natural leader and the driving force behind the Glasgow Warriors, Kyle Steyn is a powerhouse in the Scottish backline. Whether he’s bossing the edge or leading the charge as club captain, Steyn’s consistency and clinical finishing were instrumental in bringing the URC trophy back to Scotland. A 30+ cap international with a relentless work rate, he embodies the grit and spirit of the game.
- George Horne: One of the fastest scrum-halves in the northern hemisphere, George Horne is a constant threat around the base of the ruck. As the Warriors’ all-time leading try scorer with over 150 club appearances, his ability to support a break is second to none. A vital spark for the national side with over 35 Scotland caps, George brings a high-tempo game and an incredible rugby IQ to every match he plays.
- The 'Rolls Royce' of the Wing - Derek Stark: Known in his prime as the 'fastest man in rugby,' Stark combined explosive sprinting speed—clocking a blistering 10.6 seconds in the 100m—with a clinical finishing touch. A legendary figure for Ayr, Boroughmuir, Glasgow Warriors and Scotland. Stark’s career is defined by his 9 international caps, 11 appearances for the Barbarians and his role in the historic, unbeaten Glasgow District side of 1989-90. His pace and power set the gold standard for a generation.
