About
'Move & Sound' is a space for you to simply 'be' and to allow the full spectrum of your human expression. There will be at least two extended periods of dance where Robert will curate the music. These will be complemented by guided invitations into sounding and singing by Fran.The dance sessions will not be guided by words from a facilitator but by your own response to the music played: hence the name 'Music-Led Dance'. You are encouraged to listen to, enquire into, and put into movement your own body's wisdom for, with listening, your body will tell you how it wants to move; this allows you to move at your own pace, in your own way.
The invitations to make sound are designed to help free up the wisdom of expression of the dancing body and heart. There is no experience needed, and you are very much encouraged to be a beginner, even if you are a singer! The intention for this space will be for full permission to allow life to flow through us in whichever way it chooses, starting from a place of gentleness and slowness which mirrors this deep winter time of year.
Robert has been leading dances locally in this area since 1998. He says: "my aim is always for a soundscape way to pause the busy mind, so that the body leads the movement and healing if needed – though whether that is achieved seems down to Grace!"
Fran has over 20 years experience as teacher and facilitator using music and singing to create unity and community. She brings with her a warmth of heart, an infectious joy and an easeful relationality.
