The Audience is a dramatisation of the weekly private meetings that Queen Elizabeth II, played by Helen Mirren, would have with her incumbent Prime Minister, in order to discuss Government policy, Affairs of State and even personal matters. The play was written and first performed in 2013 so, during that period, there were twelve Prime Ministers ranging from Winston Churchill to David Cameron
