Wise Oak Saturday Adventure Club
About
This weekly club is for children age 5-16 who love the outdoors. Who love to play and/ or want to learn new skills. It takes place in a wonderful 6 acre woodland home to an array of flora and fauna as well as a meandering brook.
Our day begins at the log circle with a check in to introduce ourselves and find out each others interests. We discuss our ideas for the day and see how we can make that work for everyone. We agree on ways to be safe in our environment and go over our essential safety elements.
Together we create a place of belonging where every member has a voice and feels heard and valued. Our trained adults facilitate children's interests and work collaboratively in creating a space of respect.
We offer activities that allow children to feel trusted, that teach them about risk and resilience. But most importantly we create a community of support.
Our self led activities include:
nature exploration and ID, artwork, rope craft, den building, hammock hanging, water exploration and bug/bird/squirrel hunting. They are enjoyed in various ways depending on individual preferences. Any tool based activities are delivered and supervised by trained Forest School leaders.
It is ran by a qualified teacher, Forest School leader, WILD Passport practitioner and Outdoor First Aider. Additional staff are DBS checked and have experience in working with children outdoors.
Snack is included but they are welcome to bring their own too.
