About
The Cross Bay Half-Marathon
Will you beat the Bay?
The Cross Bay Half-Marathon takes you across the iconic sands of Morecambe Bay, with every stride supporting local people affected by cancer and bereavement. Join CancerCare for the fundraising challenge of the summer and experience an epic 13.1-mile route like no other.
Saturday 4th July 2026 - Arnside Promenade to Cark Airfield.
The run will start from Arnside at 9am and all runners must be ready for an 8.50am safety briefing. All runners will need to be able to complete a half-marathon within a four-hour window.
The run will be guided by two official Kings Guide to the Sands - Michael Wilson at the front and Raymond Porter at the rear both on Tractors and will be marshalled by FGH Security and The Kings Guide to the Sands volunteers.
A runners information pack will be issued to all participants via email in March. Runner safety is our top priority - The Guide to the Sands will assess the Bay in the weeks before the event and on race day. If river conditions are unsafe, we will implement an alternative route on the day, allowing the half marathon to go ahead without crossing the river channel.
