Facilitated by the Tri-borough Music Hub Team with special guests Dr Anthony Anderson Associate Professor in Music Education at Birmingham City University, Dr Kirsty Devaney Lecturer in Music Education at Royal College of Music and Rocco Brunori, Associate Conductor of Orchestras for All and Head of Education at UnMuTE.
This day has session options in the afternoon. Subject leaders and classroom practitioners new and experienced at delivering music are most welcome.

Dr Anthony Anderson is Associate Professor in Music Education at Birmingham City University. He works on a wide variety of research projects in music education and supervises doctoral students at the university. He is fascinated by all things curriculum and has presented, written and published on this subject widely. He is a former Head of Music and Performing Arts in Secondary Schools and worked as a classroom music teacher for 16 years.

Dr Kirsty Devaney is a composer and lecturer in music education at the Royal College of Music. Her research and practice centre on breaking down barriers to music education, and she is recognised as a leading specialist in composing pedagogy. She founded the Young Composers Project, directing it for over a decade and her research earned the BERA Anna Craft award. Kirsty regularly presents at international conferences, co-edited The Routledge Companion to Teaching Music Composition in Schools, and recently contributed chapters to Debates in Music Teaching and Learning to Teach Music in the Secondary School. As a composer, she has had her music performed across Europe, broadcast on BBC Radio 3, and shortlisted for a British Composer Award.

Rocco is currently working for music services and institutions (including the Triborough Music Hub, Haringey Music Service, HMDT Music and Ark Academies) as a trumpet tutor, whole classroom instrumental teaching, choir conductor, orchestra conductor, workshop leader for samba ensembles and jazz big band. He is the Creative Director of the music supervision and production company Sonoram, Associate Conductor of Orchestras for All and Head of Education at UnMuTE.

Please bring your own hot drink (if you wish) or make use of the RCM bar/coffee shop on the ground floor.

Audience:
Targeted at all Tri-borough Music Hub practitioners including school music teachers and heads of department, instrumental and vocal tutors, as well as TBMH Partners. We also welcome RCM Student Mentors who have previously worked with the TBMH, WCML Foundation Programme practitioners and those who might be joining us in the coming academic year. Existing TBMH Tutors can claim £75 to attend.
