Early spring walk - Quay & Quay Meadows

From St George's Quay, we will walk along the river Lune towards the Millennium Bridge, do a circuit of the lower Quay Meadows then back along the cycle path through the woodland. By exploring different habitats we will experience a range of habitats, species and life at different scales.
This 2-hour walk will be gently paced: a mindful exploration of the wonderful natural world around us.
About River Lune and Quay Meadows
This part of the river has a mix of habitats, from open water to scrubland, meadow and woodland. With a diversity of habitats comes a diversity of plant, invertebrate and animal life.
Session includes:
- 2hr guided walk, we will be looking at the plants and animals around us as we explore this part of Lancaster
- Cost: £15.75 (inc. booking fee)
What you'll see/hear:
- A range of trees, understorey plants and shrubs coming into leaf and flower.
- Early insects, especially queen bumblebees.
- Early summer visiting bird species (e.g. Chiffchaff).
What to bring:
- Binoculars
- Camera/camera-phone
- Weather-appropriate clothing & kit
- Drinks/snacks
